Good Afternoon, Today around noon, both Richmond-Burton CHSD 157 and Nippersink SD 2 were notified by police that an incident had taken place in the 8400 block of Tryon Grove Road, requiring a heavy police presence. Following our security protocols and out of an abundance of caution, we immediately put all schools into a soft lockdown. Around 1:30 p.m., we were notified by the Richmond Police Department that there was no longer a potential threat to safety, and we lifted the soft lockdown, returning to our regular schedule. I would like to thank the Richmond Police Department for their swift response and ongoing communication during this incident. I also want to extend my appreciation to our students and staff for their calm and adaptability in transitioning quickly to the soft lockdown and back to regular school activities. Sincerely, Dr. Tom Lind Superintendent of Schools
